Aug. 29

Officer assisted Emporia Police Dept. with a call at 10th and Mary Street.

Connie Shrock reported a burning smell in Science Hall. Officers found two lights burned out in Room 250. Contacted Al Zeimer. He will replace them.

Ambulance responded to a fall at Singular/Trusler Complex. Subject refused transport.

The light switches in King Hall Room 207 will not shut off the lights. Something is obviously wrong.

Officer checked KS 180CMT on Kellogg Circle. Operator could not be located. No problem was found.

Officer stopped TX Temporary 94R3513 at the Merchant Street on-ramp for I-35. A verbal warning was issued for a stop sign violation at 18th and Merchant Street.

Aug. 30

Linda Parks reported a window was broken out of a vehicle in Violet Parking behind Didde Catholic Campus Center.

Officer checked welfare of occupants of KS 755EKV in 1100 Merchant. Operator was having mechanical problems with the vehicle.

Officer assisted Emporia Police Dept. with a call at 902 E 12th Ave.

Officer stopped KS 863DVK at 1200 Highland St. A verbal warning was issued for driving without headlights.

Officer assisted the operator of a vehicle to turn on head lights at Merchant and Highland Street – Short Stop. Operator did not know how to turn the lights on.

Officer stopped OK 824HIO in Sector 7. A verbal warning was given for a stop sign violation at 15th and Wooster Dr.

Officer was flagged down by a female student in Sector 7 to report she lost her bicycle from 1533 Merchant St. Officers searched area and campus but did not find the bike.

Officers assisted Emporia Police Dept. with a foot chase on Mechanic between 8th and 11th Ave.

Officer assisted Lyon Co. deputy with a car stop at 15th and Center St.

Aug. 31

Officer stopped KS 730BWA at 18th and Merchant St. A verbal warning was given for failure to yield right-of-way to pedestrian at 15th and Merchant St.

Dr. Williams reported finding a disturbing letter in the one of the elevators in Plumb Hall.

Officer assisted Emporia Police Dept. with a call at 9th and Payton St.

Ambulance responded to Welch Stadium for an injury. Bob Bailey was transported by ambulance to Newman Regional Health.

Officer stopped KS 042DVO 100 W 12th Ave. A verbal warning was given for no tail light at same location.

Sept. 1

Officer stopped KS 863DVK at 1400 Market St. A citation was given for a one-way violation and no POI.

Officer assisted Emporia Police Dept. with a car stop at 1100 Congress St.

Officer assisted Emporia Police Dept. with shop lifting incident at 105 W. 12th Ave.

Officer assisted Emporia Police Dept. with a call at 12th and Exchange St.

Sept. 2

Officer stopped KS 377ATC at 100 E 12th Ave. A verbal warning was issued for improper display of license plate.

Officer retrieved a wallet belonging to a male student from Merchant and Highland Street – Short Stop Convenience Store.

Sept. 3

Officer stopped KS 362CSW in Sector 4. A verbal warning was given for a one-way violation.

Officer stopped KS 108DVK in Lot 5. A verbal warning was given for a stop sign violation.

Officer stopped KS 051AGY at 100 west 13th Ave. A verbal warning was given for driving without headlights.

Officer contacted a male subject and a female subject in Hammond Park and advised of park hours.

Sept. 4

Officer stopped Ks 058AFI in 1000 Merchant Street. A verbal warning was given for improper display of registration.

Gabrielle Garrison reported stolen property from Welch Stadium.

Officer assisted Lyon Co. deputy with a car stop and an arrest on a Shawnee Co. warrant in 1000 E 6th Ave.
