Casa Ramos hosted 801 Entertainment on January 20th. The night featured sets from comedians Dan Courtwright, Tom O’Grady, Brock Bristow, and Tagan Trahoon.
Emporians gathered on Jan. 20 at Casa Ramos to enjoy a sold-out night of comedy. The restaurant’s second sold-out show, the show’s lineup included Tagan Trahoon, Tom O’Grady, Dan Courtwright and headliner Brock Bristow.
Casa Ramos prepared a separate venue to host the comedians and the audience, but the audience was still able to order drinks and food from the restaurant. The venue had lower light levels which created a more personal atmosphere between the audience and the entertainer.
Courtwright and Trahoon are comedic partners and are always looking to bring in local talent and give a chance to up-and-coming comedians. They have been doing shows off and on for two years.
“We are not just a comedy show, we are also a first chance opportunity for a lot of people,” Trahoon said. “…We want to be the guys that ‘get you some more experience’…we never turn anyone away…we want to make comedy a regular thing in Emporia…we just want to make people laugh.”
Casa Ramos will be hosting 6 shows this year with the possibility of an open mic night in the future.
