As Emporia State football wrapped up their regular season schedule, one more game was added to their postseason. The Hornets will travel to Corsicana, TX to compete in the Heritage Bowl at Community Bank & Trust Stadium on Dec. 2.
ESU hopes to take home a bowl game victory for the second year in a row. In last year’s bowl game, the Hornets came out on top against Southeastern Oklahoma with a final score of 48-27.
ESU will face off against Southern Nazarene of the Great American Conference who finished their regular season with a record of 6-5 compared to ESU’s regular season record of 8-3.
The Thundercats average 32.18 points per game whereas the Hornets average 39.36 points per game. In addition, SNU has a total of 239 first downs on the season where 141 come from rushing, 82 in passing, and 16 in penalties. ESU tops SNU in total first downs with a total of 289 in which 82 come from rushing, 187 in passing, and 20 in penalties.
The game is set to kick-off at 12:00 p.m.
