This semester, Alex Mosakowski, First Year Experience and Student Success Librarian at William Allen White Library, has reintroduced a way to relieve stress on campus. On Oct. 9, Mosakowski brought students together to enjoy the company of some playful dogs.
“The goal is to help students take a break from their midterms. Obviously cuddling with adorable dogs is a great way to destress,” Mosakowski said.
Whether it be with homework, classes, midterms, or just life, students’ stress levels can easily become overwhelmed. New ways to reduce stress, such as Pause for Paws, can be extremely helpful for students’ mental health.
He hopes that by bringing dogs to campus, people will be able to take a step away from their worries and just enjoy the experience.
“I think students have a lot on their minds with work and school,” he said.
Mosakowski explains that each student has their own way to relieve themselves of stress and everyone’s methods can be different. Other ways students can destress and improve their mental health are to participate in craft activities and take breaks, he said.
