Mackenzie Dimarco of the Emporia State women’s soccer team has been named player of the week sponsored by Emporia Main Street.
Mackenzie attended Pleasant Hill High School in Missouri’s Pleasant Hill, where she tallied a total of 305 goals in just four seasons. During her freshman year at ESU, Dimarco played and started in all 20 games during the season.
During her freshman season she scored a total of 40 goals, four assists, as well as eight game-winning shots. Just as a freshman, she finished the season leading the MIAA in total made goals.
During the 2022 season with the Hornets, Dimarco received several awards including 2022 United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-American, D2CCA First Team All-American, All-MIAA First Team, United Soccer Coaches First Team All-Region, and MIAA Scholar Athlete.
So far this year, Dimarco has scored a total of 14 goals for the Hornets, and leads the MIAA conference in shots on goal at 33, and goals at 14. Dimarco is tied for first in the MIAA for total shots at 66, and comes in at third in game-winning goals at three.
