The School of Visual & Performing Arts hosted the Annual Gala Benefit Concert in Albert Taylor Hall on October 7th, 2023, featuring Paraguayan classical guitarist Berta Rojas. Rojas performed an assortment of music from the mid-1800s to mid-1900s.

David Garlock visited Emporia State on Sept. 29 to give his presentation "Blood Brothers: Escaping Abuse Through Murder." The presentation detailed the role trauma and abuse played in Garlock and his brother's 1999 murder case while also bringing a new perspective to the case of Lyle and Erik Menendez, who were convicted in 1996 of murdering their parents Jose and Kitty seven years earlier.
