There are two hard parts to dressing fashionable.
The first is money. It’s hard to dress cute when you have no money to buy cute clothes. If you’re like me, you head straight to the back of the store and find the clearance racks whenever you go. It’s too hard to resist those $5 shirts, but in reality, they’re on clearance because they’re out of season or out of style. This is why you have to get creative with those clothes and pair them with other pieces to make a great outfit.
The second hard part is knowing how to combine clothes to make a cute outfit. So many girls find themselves staring at their closet saying “I have nothing to wear,” even though they’re staring at a closet full of clothes. It’s important to learn how to pair pieces of clothes together to make outfits you feel confident in.
One place you can start is Pinterest. I absolutely love Pinterest. I find tons of great outfit ideas on there. If you have a clothing board, go check out what you’ve pinned. See the outfits you love and then try finding close matches in your closet to copy it. If you don’t have a clothing board or if you are looking for something new, simply search for it. I search things like, “Fall Outfits 2015,” “Black Blazer Outfits,” “Work Outfits,” etc. If you have a certain piece of clothing you want to wear, search the clothing item and you will find ways to wear it.
Another place to look is on your favorite stores’ websites. I love shopping at Forever 21. It’s cheap and fashionable! You can look through what they are selling and usually find outfits that the models are wearing, or you can search for their look books. These look books show you different styles and make shopping easy. You see the outfit the model is wearing and then it gives you the option to buy the clothing pieces to make the outfit. Or, if you’re not wanting to buy anything, just go to the look book and steal outfit ideas.
Don’t let not knowing how to pair your clothing pieces stop you from wearing amazing outfits. Use your resources and find ideas from other people. There is nothing wrong with stealing outfit ideas from others! Find your inspiration and go from there. The more you pair your items from looking off of other people the easier it will get for you to do it on your own. Pretty soon, you will be the person girls are stealing ideas from!
