The Emporia State cross country teams headed to Victoria, Kansas for the championship round of the season at the MIAA Championships hosted by Fort Hays last Saturday.
The Lady Hornets had five finishers in the top 100. Emily Schoenfeld, junior, finished 18th. The second highest finisher was Audrey Desrosiers, freshman, at 66th; followed by Mallory Kramer, freshman, at 80th; Taylor Stueve, senior, at 83rd; Baylee Wilson, freshman, at 88th and Priscilla King, junior, at 91st.
Schoenfield earned All-MIAA honorable mention honors for the second straight year, leading the Hornet’s cross country teams at the MIAA Championships. The men’s team placed ninth and the women placed 10th in the team standings. Daniel Claassen, senior, was the top finisher for the men’s team, finishing at 46th place.
On Nov. 7, the teams travel to Joplin, Missouri for the NCAA Central Regional Championships.
