The Emporia State volleyball team lost their third game at the Washburn Invitational in four sets
to Augustana on Saturday morning. They won the first set 25-23, and then proceeded to lose the next three
never getting any closer than 25-17.
The stats told the story as Augustana dominated almost every meaningful statistic. They
outscored ESU 71-48. They had 20 more kills than the Lady Hornets with 52 to ESU’s 32
and the Vikings out assisted the Lady Hornets 9-3.
Josie Williams led ESU in kills with nine. Tatum Graves had the most aces with two. Kimberly Bell
led the way in assists with 15. Finally, Kelly Holden led all diggers with 19.
The Lady Hornets will try to finish up play in the Washburn Invitational with a split as they will
face South Dakota School of Mines and Technology Saturday afternoon.
