Each line item will have an assigned 15 minute slot to present their financial information and requests for increase, if applicable, to the Associated Student Government fiscal affairs committee.
“We can spend 15 minutes with each line item organization,” said Daniel Agbaji, fiscal affairs committee chair and graduate library information management and instructional design student. “Fifteen is actually what we are going to give as the limit. We know there’s a possibility that we can go beyond the 15…especially if they are asking for funding.”
Only two line items are currently asking for an increase, according to Paul Frost, junior accounting major. No other line items will be able to ask for an increase at this time, according to Agbaji.
“The Sunflower” yearbook still hasn’t turned in their line item paperwork for consideration, according to Agbaji.
“Please, guys, let’s work a little bit harder in terms of going through the forms again,” Agbaji said. “I know you’re very busy, but the little time you have, just look at it…Whatever you think you can give.”
The Center for Early Childhood Education, Special Events Board, Union Activities Council, Athletic Bands, Sports Club and “Quivira” will each be given 15 minute increments to meet with the fiscal affairs committee in that order, according to the line item schedule. The meeting will begin go from 8:15 to 9:45 p.m. Oct. 16 in the Great Plains room in the Memorial Union.
“The Sunflower” yearbook, Visual Arts Board, Performing Arts Board, The Bulletin, Associated Student Government and the Educational Opportunities Fund will also be given 15 minutes to meet with the committee in that order, from 8:15 to 9:45 p.m. Oct. 23 in the Great Plains room, according to the line item schedule.
The meetings are open and anyone can attend.
The next fiscal affairs meeting will be at 8:15 p.m. Oct. 9 in the Great Plains room.
