With a unanimous vote and no discussion, the Office of Disability Services was renamed the “Office of Student Accessibility and Support Services” by the Committee of Campus Governance. They also updated senate policy so the School of Business has four senators in Faculty Senate, instead of three.
“There has been some reorganization to the School of Business,” said Bethanie O’Dell, chair and virtual learning librarian in university libraries and archives.
The business department is now split in two sides; a business administration side and an accounting and information systems side, according to Carol Lucy, assistant professor of business administration.
The additional senator reflected this change.
There was also discussion on how to develop new reward incentives for faculty.
“In business what we do when we can’t give money, is give titles or parking places or things like that,” Lucy said. “What we’re looking for is benefits outside of pay or the word ‘tenure’…”
The next CoCG meeting will be at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 11 in the Xi Phi Room in the Memorial Union.
