The Emporia State women’s track team placed third and the men’s track team placed sixth at the MIAA-NSIC Challenge hosted by Northwest Missouri on April 9.
Duke Tibbs, junior, ran his personal best, 47.53, in the 400 meter, ranking him 15th in the nation this year, and second all-time at ESU.
Emily Schoenfeld, junior, had a time of 18:30.91 in the 5000 meter, while placing third in the steeple chase at 11:21.17 to move up to second on the Emporia State all-time list. Taylor Stueve, senior, ran 4:56.38 placing second in the women’s 1500 meter run. The women’s 4X100 meter relay placed second with a time of 47.63.
Alec Garcia, sophomore, placed second in the discus with a throw of 158-07. He also placed second in the shot with a throw of 49-01.50. The men’s 4X100 meter relay placed second as well with a time of 41.32.
Next up for Emporia State will be KT Woodman Classic April 15-16 in Wichita, Kansas.
