Shane Shively was announced as the next Emporia State Foundation President on Feb. 9.
Stephen Williams, chair of the Foundation’s board of trustees, said the final decision was made by the executive committee and President Allison Garrett and it was “unanimous consent,” Garrett said.
“Over the past year, Shane Shively and Jennifer Denton ran the Foundation as we searched for a new president,” Garrett said.
As Foundation President, Shively will work to promote a philanthropic spirit, throughout the campus and the community. Shively will work closely with President Garrett on campus
fundraising.
“Emporia State University is a special place, and I am proud to be included in the vision for its future,” Shively said. “We have a great leader in President Garrett, and I am excited to engage with Hornet Nation…to help take our institution to a new level.”
Shively will officially begin his role on Tuesday.
