James H. Walther, assistant professor of the School of Library and Information Management, has been appointed co-chair of the American Library Association, Library Instruction Round Table Conference Program Committee.
The Library Instruction Round Table empowers librarians, from all types of libraries, to become better teachers through sharing practices, leadership skills, professional development, and networking., according to Mirah Dow, professor and interim dean of SLIM.
Walther was not available for comment, as he is in Colorado at a conference.
“I know him well, he’s a great guy I can tell you that,” said Gary Wyatt, associate provost and director of the Honors College. “He’s very well respected,.I have worked with him in the past.”
Walther was more than worthy of the co-chair appointment, according to Wyatt.
“Dr. Walther is a great choice for this important position,” Dow said. “His extensive public and special library experience in New York and Washington D. C. include reference and research services, technical services, and digital resource management. (These skills are) invaluable to planning an engaging conference.”
