Blake Stone was arrested and booked into the Lyon County Jail on Sept. 28.
An Emporia State football coach was arrested and booked into the Lyon County Jail Sunday, according to a booking document by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
Blake Stone, who is a running back and stinger back coach for the Hornets, was charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and transporting an open container. A detention center roster shows Stone is no longer being held in county jail.
“We are aware of the incident and will continue to monitor it,” said Gwen Larson, director of media relations and internal communications, on behalf of the university. “We take these matters seriously and will address in accordance with university policies.”
Stone was brought on to coach the Hornets by head coach Garin Higgins in June. Prior to ESU, Stone was the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Gannon University for the 2024 season.
