Well, it’s that time of year – it’s cuffin’ season, ladies and gentlemen.
The weather is turning into chilly and rainy nights and you’re wishing you had a significant other to spend those lonely nights with. Once the gloomy weather kicks in, emotions seem to be uncontrollable, unstoppable. Perhaps, rain has the ability to open up everyone’s feelings.
It doesn’t help when Drake releases one of his soulful, emotion-packed albums during this time. Every lyric seems to express feelings of solitude and longing.
So, is it the right time to start looking for a “friend with benefits” to help you make it through those lonely and cold winter nights? The way I look at it, cuffin’ can only help you. Having someone to confide in will help alleviate some of your stress. It makes you feel good, and when we feel good we give others around us reason to feel good too. Everyone benefits.
The downside of cuffin’ season is that emotions are skyrocketing during this season. For the people who aren’t having any luck, they’re “in their feelings.” If you’re a part of Twitter, you’ll know that Drake’s lyrics are also some of the most tweeted songs the social media site, expressing those same feelings of wanting somewhere to confide in.
But, there are also positives to this season, as well. Foremost, it means less people are “in their feelings.” For those who are encountering stress, having a significant other will help alleviate some of the stress.
As for those who do decide to participate in “cuffin’ season,” make sure you’re doing it for honorable reasons. Guys, be good to women. No girl is looking for a guy that just wants a fling. They’re looking for a relationship that is actually going to have some meaning behind it
Ladies, don’t be a tease. Guys are looking for a girl who isn’t going to lead them, just as much as you are looking for a solid relationship. Don’t waste the cuff time.
