The Hornet volleyball team had a busy week, racking up two wins and three loses since last Friday, which moves their current record to 6-3.
The team started out traveling to Warrensburg, Mo. There, they defeated the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, 3-1, but were defeated later that day, 2-3, by Minnesota State University Moorhead. The Peggy Martin Challenge continued into Saturday where they started out with a 3-2 victory over Winona State, but fell to Ferris State that night.
The Hornets also had their home opener last Tuesday, when they took on Washburn in the Turnpike Tussle. The Ichabods took control of the first two matches, beating the Hornets, 25-21 and 25-22. In the third match, the Hornets tried to regroup and lead 12-10 early on but could not sustain the lead. The match saw 11 ties and two lead changes but Washburn ended the match with a 4-1 run to take the game 25-22.
“There is something in their head and we have to find out what will make them perform,” said Bing XU, head coach, in an interview with Media Relations after the game.
The Hornets play another set at White Auditorium this Saturday when they host Missouri Western.
