Hello! I’d like to introduce myself with a few words, and also a photograph. My name is Jordan, and I am a style blogger for the ESU Bulletin (this is probably already apparent to you as you are reading this from our webpage, but I will continue anyway). I’m a second year photography student here, and if there is one thing I love, it’s making personal style choices, and seeing and appreciating similar choices of others.
What I don’t want to do with this blog is to make it wholly my OWN. We want this to be a place where students can come to learn things about fashion, beauty, style, or come to as a resource for inspiration. That means that throughout the course of this year, I’ll be sharing tips on how to achieve that perfectly pigmented lip color in the fall, how to wear crop tops throughout the year, how to dress up and dress down certain pieces in your wardrobe, but also simple tips that ANYONE can learn from. That is where I would like to start today.
As you can see from this photo, I wear t-shirts and shorts to class, too. This is a mid-week outfit that could use a little dressing up, but that isn’t the topic of this blog post. I wanted to introduce myself with no sign of “I dress up every single day,” but with, “I’m normal.”
One thing that doesn’t change day-to-day is my school bag (it’s a large tote from Vans), and the content inside – most importantly, a small kit that is full of all of my emergency girl equipment, if you will.
As you can see, it’s a pretty small kit that is interchangeable with different sizes of bags, whether you carry a purse or a backpack to school. Inside I carry the essentials: a pair of sunglasses (Target), a nail file, hair ties and bobby pins, a pen, chewing gum (Orbit Wintermint is my personal favorite), a comb, headphones, Visine for contacts (if you are blessed with perfect vision, you may want to skip this), a Tide-to-Go pen for those accidents that always seem to happen, a small tube of hand lotion (TokyoMilk Dark), chap stick (Nivea A Kiss of Smoothness), and the lip color I wore that day (Rimmel Show Off in Stellar).
Obviously, these items are partially tailored to me, but each one can be swapped out for your favorite brand or particular kind of each category. You can also add your own essentials, like maybe you love to paint your nails in between classes? Add a polish to your kit! While this is a general list that most ladies can pull from, we are all unique and have our own needs.
I hope you enjoyed this post and look forward to upcoming posts as much as I do. Feel free to email me at [email protected] if you would like to ask advice to be answered in a post, or have any ideas for one – I’d love to hear from you!
