Both the Emporia State and Nebraska-Kearney football teams will be playing for nothing more than pride this Saturday. Both teams suffered losses in week 10, ensuring both would finish with losing records this season.
While the Hornets are a disappointing 4-6, the Lopers are just 2-8 heading into their season finale. The Lopers started the season 0-5, four of which were of 17 points or more except for a 10-7 loss at home to Washburn. They then won two straight before losing their last three games. The most recent being a 55-0 loss at Missouri Western.
The Lopers are coached by Darrell Morris. Morris is in season number 14 as the head coach at UNK. He is one of the most successful coach in the 114 year history of the program. He ranks third in wins in program history with 98 and second in winning percentage at 64 percent. He has led UNK to four conference titles, two playoff births and their only two double digit win seasons.
