
The Emporia State football team hosted a spring game on April 22 in Welch Stadium which consisted of the ESU football team playing a number of mini practice games with two different teams named after the university’s colors. Following the spring game, an ESU alumni game was played where graduated football players came back to Welch to play in a makeshift flag football game. Prior to the spring football game, ESU alumni tailgated in the ESU recreation center at 4 p.m., followed by legends game registration at 5:30 p.m. Following the spring game and the alumni flag football game was a social hour where current ESU football players, ESU alumni football players as well as fans of the sport were encouraged to meet for a social hour.
