The Emporia State volleyball team lost in four sets to Drury University in their second game of the Washburn Invitational Saturday afternoon at Lee Arena in Topeka.
Drury scored 15 more points than Emporia State, outscoring the Lady Hornets 80-65. They also had 11 more kills, five more aces and seven more assists. Stat leaders for ESU were as follows: Josie Williams lead the team in kills with 15. Sydney Hartman had two Aces, Tatum Graves had four blocks, Kimberly Bell had 23 assists and Josie Williams had 20 digs. The most lopsided set was set one. Drury outscored ESU 25-18. They had 21 kills to ESU’s 14.
The Lady Hornets will face Augustana at 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 5 at Lee Arena. The Vikings were 18-10 last season and 11-9 in conference. They are 1-0 all time against ESU.
