ESU volleyball fell in straight sets to Central Missouri (24-26, 12-25, 26-28) and Lindenwood (20-25, 20-25, 20-25) Saturday and Sunday.
In the match against Central Missouri on Saturday, there were eight lead changes and the score tied 21 times.
ESU was led in kills by freshman outside hitter Jordan Evans with nine, followed by freshman setter Yuchen Du, freshman outside hitter Karly Patton and junior outside hitter Jamie Hauptman, all with seven.
Du had 25 assists and 11 digs. Julia Joseph, junior outside hitter, also had 11 digs in the game.
Allie Maloney, sophomore defensive specialist, had nine digs and Evans had eight.
The match against Lindenwood on Sunday included six lead changes and the score tied 15 times. ESU was unable to come back from the deficit and fell to the Lions.
Mikayla Simons, freshman middle hitter, led the Hornets with eight kills and Du followed with six.
Jordan Evans, freshman outside hitter, Hauptman and Valerie Golder, freshman middle hitter, all had five kills.
Maloney led the team in digs with 11. Du also finished with eight digs to go along with game high 24 assists.
With both losses, the Hornets fell to 6-10 in the MIAA and 14-15 overall. They will compete against the University of Oklahoma at 6 p.m. tonight in Edmond, Oklahoma.
