Dunkin’ Donuts recently opened its doors in Emporia last week with community support.
The new location is open at 2000 Industrial Rd., with hours from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
“Basically, (it) starts with hiring good people, just good people, the rest of this is not as important as having good people,” said Roger Bertsche, area supervisor of Dunkin Donuts. “We are really excited, it’s gone really well, the community has been really supportive.”
Dunkin’ Donuts received support from the community, including from the Emporia Chamber & Visitor Bureau and Abundant Harvest. Dunkin’ Donuts received a $1,000 donation check from Abundant Harvest, which is a local thrift store and food kitchen.
“I think it’s great, everyone is excited about it,” said Kathryn Martin, public relations coordinator of Emporia Chamber & Visitors Bureau said. “It’s always good to get people and community excited about things, and support businesses in Emporia, so that’s great.”
According to Alison Leiszler-Bridges, Dunkin’ Donuts executive vice president, they’re working with Abundant Harvest.
“We are just excited to partner with Abundant Harvest,” Leiszler–Bridges said. “We are donating our left-over donuts…they’re just a great partner.”
To celebrate their grand opening, Dunkin’ Donuts gave out donut boxes, and gift bags that included stickers, coffee and $2 gift cards.
“It’s exciting,” said Joshua Blaisdell, sales professional of Longbine Auto Plaza. “They have good coffee, and I think their prices are really good too, my coffee is really inexpensive, it’s like two bucks. It’s not bad at all, (it’s) exciting stuff.”
