Spring is just around the corner and it is time for some spring cleaning! I tend to clean out my closet every couple of months because I have a love for organizing things, but for all of you who shove new things in your closet and never clean things out, this is your time to start.
I like to take everything out of my closet and make sure I sort things according to if I am going to keep them or get rid of them. Sometimes I have a hard time letting things go, but I try to keep in mind that those clothes are just wasting space that could be used for clothes I actually wear. Make sure to get rid of anything that is too small or things you haven’t worn in the past year. You can take these things to Goodwill, or if you’re looking to make some money take them to Plato’s Closet, sell them at a garage sale, or post them on Vinted (see my previous blog for details!)
Once you have decided what’s staying and what’s going, organize! Winter is coming to an end so make sure you arrange your so that your spring clothes are easy to access. Don’t hide all of your scarves yet. You can keep your lighter scarves out. You might want to start pushing the boots to the back of the closet. This is a sad time for me because I am obsessed with boots, but they are more of a fall and winter staple item. Bring your flats out and maybe even a few pair of sandals!
My favorite spring outfit is a pair of skinny jeans, flats and a scarf. Pair a floral scarf with a plain t-shirt and you have the perfect spring look. The flats dress your outfit up and you are still comfortable all day. This is the perfect casual look for school, work or a shopping day. If you are in need of a scarf, check out Forever 21. They have scarves starting at only $6. Another great idea would be trading some of those clothes you want to get rid of for some spring staples, like flats and light scarves, using Vinted. I hope you’re looking forward to these sunny days this week as much as I am. Happy almost Spring!
