The Emporia State men’s basketball team fell to 8-10 on the season following a 70-62 loss at Washburn last Saturday evening.
The Hornets fell behind by as many as 14 points with 2:29 to go in the first half. The Hornets trailed 33-19 before going on a 10-1 to close out the first half to trail 34-29 at the break. ESU got within one as Terrence Moore, senior guard, scored the first four points of the first half but could never take the lead. They trailed by as many as 12 in the second half.
The biggest statistic to take away from Saturday night’s loss was the fact that ESU was shooting just 29 percent from the floor, the Ichabods shot 44 percent. The Hornets also shot 22 percent from three and just 65 percent from the foul line. Despite the chilly shooting night, three Hornets were in double figures. Terrence Moore led the scoring with 15 points. Brandon Hall, freshman guard, and Charles Mckinney, senior guard, each had 10.
ESU will look to rebound at 5:30 p.m. today as they travel to Bolivar Missouri to take on Southwest Baptist.
