The annual homecoming bonfire included a large fire with the mules mascot on top of the pier and the Greek Life, “Yell like Hell” competition. The bonfire was held in Wilson Park on Oct. 18.
“There’s a lot happening (at the bonfire),” said Payton Bolte, freshman psychology major. “We’re gonna yell like hell and Sigma is gonna win.”
Each group that wanted to compete in “Yell like Hell” event had the opportunity to sign up at the UAC table.
“I feel that events like this are important because it brings out the student body,” said Casey Dunkin, sophomore marketing major and UAC member. “It shows your school spirit, and who doesn’t love a bonfire?”
Members of the school and community attended the event to witness the band, dance team, cheerleaders and homecoming royalty that were in attendance.
“(The bonfire) is pretty cool,” said Kassidy Selby freshman nursing major. “(As a freshman,) I wanted to see what it was all about.”
Chi Omega won first place in the “Yell like Hell” competition, Alpha Sigma Alpha won second place.
