The Kansas Board of Regents has selected Executive Vice President of  Enrollment Management and Student Success Taylor Kriley to serve as interim president of Emporia State. Kriley is expected to hold the position until newly appointed President Matthew Baker arrives to campus in early March.

“The Regents are grateful that Dr. Kriley has agreed to serve as the interim president of Emporia State University,” said Kansas Board of Regents Chair Blake Benson in a press release.

Kriley, an ESU alumna, came to ESU in 2024 from Fort Hays State, where she had served in various academic and administrative roles, including senior diversity officer, director of diversity and inclusion and vice president of student affairs. Between 2011 and 2017, Kriley worked in multiple roles at ESU, including the director of fraternity and sorority life and senior director of the Center for Student Involvement, now Student Life.

“Dr. Kriley is a graduate of Emporia State who cares deeply about the university and the students it serves. We are thankful for her leadership during this period of transition,” said Benson.
