Students will decide next week who will serve as representatives in Associated Student Government for the 2026-27 academic year. Voters will elect Emporia State’s next student body president, vice president and the senators who will represent their academic school.
ASG held a debate on Wednesday for prospective senators and executives to share how they will lead on campus and answer questions from students.
Here’s what you need to know.
Election Days
Elections for ASG will take place over three days, from Tuesday, April 7 to Thursday, April 9. Each day, voting will open at 9 a.m. and close at 4 p.m.
Students can vote in-person or electronically through ASG’s electronic voting system. Those who wish to vote in person can do so in Memorial Union, Cremer Hall or Visser Hall during poll times.
Votes will be cast by way of secret ballot, which means a student’s vote is private.
Who’s running?
Students will vote only for those running as a senator for the school associated with their program of study. For example, students in programs housed in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences will vote only for candidates running to represent the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. All students can vote for ASG president and vice president.
Write-in candidates are permitted on student ballots.
